About me

Ed Randall

I first learned to program around 1980 on a TI-57 calculator and also learned BASIC on a SWTPC 6809 system running FLEX. A BBC model "B" micro followed, with BBC BASIC, 6502 and Z80 assembler.

I've been a UNIX user since 1988, at first developing in C for real-time embedded systems.

In 1996 I became interested in the Java language and developed in it for many years.

More recently I've been looking at build systems, continuous delivery and containerisation.
